Romantic Germany 1780-1850
Drawings from the Weimar collections
Immerse yourself in the Romantic period in Germany with this selection of 150 works that have never before been shown to the public.
During the Romantic period, a number of German artists showed a particular genius for drawing. In addition to technical mastery, their drawings represented the most novel creative expression of the epoch of Goethe.
One hundred and fifty exceptional drawings chosen from Weimar Museum collections for the Petit Palais exhibition have never been presented publicly and will be shown for the first time. They offer a panorama of this golden age of German drawing, where the emblematic figures of Füssli, Caspar David Friedrich and Philipp Otto Runge stand out.
