A poem on display

Victor Hugo’s Houses Paris / Guernesey

November the 17th to april the 23th 2017

The main objective of this exhibition is to shift the focus back to words, to display poetry. The exhibition will focus on only one poem: La pente de la rêverie.

The educational and lively layout invites visitors to “enter” into the poem, grasp its form, observe its interior architecture, narrative path, the optical features that are brought into play, the richness of the poem’s imagery, its rhyming patterns and the philosophical questions that it poses. This exhibition provides an opportunity to initiate a dialogue with those in the academic and educational setting. A room will be dedicated to work produced with a class of college students, a project that allows the design of lively and relevant applications for this target audience, which will allow them to discover the different aspects of the poem. Finally, the exhibition also aims to create exchanges between contemporary artists and poets, in order to bring to light the unique, permanent aspect of a poem, both tangible, concrete and full of meaning, both imaginative and philosophical.
