Artworks as a way of visiting Paris

The Place de la République, the Tuileries, the Place Pigalle, the Porte Saint-Martin, and a host of other famous places in Paris can be visited or revisited with an eye on works from the Musée Carnavalet. This app locates them on an interactive street map.

You can consult every one of the works on the interactive street map

Because the application is geolocated, you have the option of being notified of the presence of a work as you walk through the streets of the French capital.

Each work is digitised and accompanied by a short explanatory note with a link to the file for the work on the website of the Paris Musées collections.

Use the app to share your own take on the work

If you feel inspired by an artwork, take your own photo and use the app to share your re-interpretation of it.

A way of providing a new take on an artwork. An enlightened take, or a fun take – whichever it is, it’ll be your own personal angle on the piece.
